Sauvignon Blanc (both wooded and unwooded) receiving international acclaim.

Red Wine

There have been significant changes in red wine styles over the past decade, especially viticulturally, with the judicious use of wood, different cultivars, picking at optimum ripeness and cellar improvement, reflecting the unique terroir and styles of winemaking.

"Bordeaux" blends have become the most expensive red wines in South Africa, made from Cabernet Sauvignon blended with Merlot or Cabernet Franc. Cape blends are made from Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Cinsaut in varying proportions.
